(Thermopsis rhombifolia) Golden yellow pea shaped flowers, grows 10 to 40 cm tall, blooms May to June.
Caution: Golden Bean contains poisonous alkaloids which can be harmful to children if eaten.
Planting Instructions: Seeds need to be scarified by rubbing between sand paper or nicking the seed coat with a knife. Follow with 10 days of cool stratification.
Germination: 3 to 7 days.
Historical: The Blackfoot call this plant Buffalo Bean because bison bulls would head for their summer grazing grounds when this plant flowered.
